Mini Vaca

I am on a well needed and well deserved mini vaca to northern Arkansas.  A gorgeous trip back in time place called Eureka Springs.  The weather could not be more well behaved.  I am enjoying the sounds of nothing, especially in my mind.  My senses are filled with the architecture of an area I wish I could time travel back to.  I have been here before once years ago.  I feel refreshed and time alone is a wonderful thing that everyone should experience.
I have gone into every shop on main street.  Every antique store I could find.  If the world could be such as this lovely village, life would be calming.  Something about the Victorian era that just makes you feel like your life slows to a crawl.  The attention to detail on these homes is just breath taking.
I was blessed to grow up in a turn of the century home in Gibbsboro, New Jersey.  Three stories and twenty rooms of shear hide and go seek heaven for any child!!  I remember returning home from my summers spent in Brooklyn, New York with my sister Nola, and the first thing I would do was run around my house taking in every spectacle my eye would engulf.  I had to be sure that nothing had changed  a smidgen while I was away.  Being here reminds me of being a child again. That wonderful innocence of youthful play on long summer nights fetching fireflies and playing games with my friends.  Those days when it never seemed to get dark.
The innocence of that time.  Lady and the Tramp (Jim Dear and Darling), Meet me in St. Louis this is when life was so grand so simple.  I cannot believe I forgot my camera... I must get a disposable one.

A note to Katherine

There are moments that you find yourself saying "That's just what I say--or think about--"  To me music does that ..speaks those words in just the manner I would say them.... and brings back memories --those moments in time I was talking about before---

I think of my beautiful Katherine Elizabeth when I hear this song..... it takes me back to those many one on one mommy/daughter--best friends talks deep into the night that we so often shared.... those moments I miss---and cherish---make me cry--make me smile--make my heart leap so hard it just might burst into a FIST FULL OF GLITTER

You will have those moments with your children sweetheart-- you will-- because you are an amazing person--and you will be an even more amazing mother than you ever allow yourself to imagine. Remember how very proud I am of you and how very much I adore you.

Have you ever fed a lover
With just ur hands?
Close your eyes and
Trust it, just trust it.
Have you ever
thrown a fist full of
Glitter in the air?
Have you ever looked fear in the face
And said I just don't care?

It's only half past the of no return
The tip before the ice burg,
The sun before the burn
The thunder before the lightening
The breath before the phrase.

Have you ever felt this way?

Have you ever been touched so gently you had to cry?
Have you ever wished for an endless night?
Lassoed the moon and the stars
And pulled that rope tight.
Have you ever held your breath
And asked yourself
Will it ever get better than
Tonight----- tonight

From the chronicles of Jenny Gay McGiggles

My friend Jenny at work is one of those most Hilarious people that you are just so thankful you are apart of  her inner circle...

Today on lunch we were watching youtube.com (you know how much I love youtube.com) clips about those poor little 8 year olds in their pole dancer outfits their parents (who by the way should be drawn and quartered!!  I'll address this subject in another post!) allowed to dance to provocatively to All the Single ladies.

The quote went " I don't think that these little girls know they are doing anything wrong"- some random person

Jenny- in a snap come back -"Of course they don't think they are doing anything wrong.... they just got off the pacifier!!"

"Perhaps Mr. Collins has a cousin" Elizabeth Bennett

"Are you sure I'm a tiger? I don't feel very much like a tiger.  Maybe I'm a vicious ass Koala bear... did you ever investigate that?" Kat Williams

"You can't even go to heaven if you get killed by eating spinach.. you can't even go.. you don't what to tell Jesus.. "Yes, Jesus I did have a salad I really did, I don't know what I was thinking." Kat Williams

"Welcome to King Burger where you can have it your way... But don't get crazy!" Bon qui qui

Morning Glory

I was walking to my car this morning and had a momentary movie clip smile--- I was Elizabeth Bennett (in that end scene when she gets out of bed from a sleepless night walks out to the field)-- the mist covers everything and all you hear (beside the music score)-- is the chirping of the birds.. everything is quiet and the sun peeks through the mist to cast that unmistakable glow of a misty morn-- the brilliant hues of yellow-orange and reds--dew on the grass--  only my eyes scanned the horizon for Mr. Darcy (Matthew MacFadyen) making his way towards me--- ah sweet dreams-- at least I can control the ones I have when I am awake--
It's going to be another day that I will control it to be what I want it to be, because I am the Goddess of my universe!! and the Leading Lady of my own life!

Sleep

Why is sleep not my friend?
Sleep is suppose to be with you till the nights end.
Yet sleep eludes me like dear Nessie!
When I actually do fall alseep my dreams are mostly messie!!

So why is sleep not my friend?
Instead sleep is more like my foe.

Dream soul dream,
Make my heart beat,
Beat for a love longlasting.

Bonne Nuit ( good night in French)

great quote from The Holiday Iris- "You're suppose to be the leading lady of your own life for God's sake."

MY BABY IS HAVING A BABY!!

Just a thought- why does it seem so more intense when it's your daughter who is having the baby as apposed to your son---hhmm--Katherine and Shelby moved back to Utah when she was just barely three months-- for mothers day she sent me some photos-- I cried-- there was my baby with a BUMP!!! Of course it was tears of joy but wow talk about knock my socks off!!! I love that she calls/texts me at all hours about all sorts of things--"mommy do babies get hick-ups?" "Mommy what does it mean when....?" I love it.... I love her.... I told Katherine that I was getting two back packs one for Kirtlynn and one for Everett, on them will be etched- " I'm running away to MY GRANDMA'S HOUSE!" also a cell phone with only my number on speed dial. Her reply was this " I will be standing at the door with Everett and his backpack and tell him "Oh no you don't I'M going, she was MY MOTHER FIRST!"

Those moments in time

You know in life when you come across something that just takes your breath away even if only for a moment. I had one of those moments today. I came across one of my most Cherished photos. It was one of my Austin. He is about two in this picture and it captures him to a tee. I LOVE THIS BOY who has grown into an amazing man, whom I love even more-yet he went from then to now- in what seems to be a mere blink of an eye. I was thinking of a line Mrs Bennett says to Lizzie in Pride and Prejudice. " One seems so forlorn without ones children." That is how I felt when I looked at my little boy who is now a strong man. I realized my nest is radiply becoming empty. Why does time have to go by so quickly? I wish I could capture my favorite moments in a snowglobe and place them on a shelf.

My Daughters

There are two woman in this world that I adore above all others, they are my daughters, Katherine and Angela. (Of course their brothers are adored by me above all other men in the universe). I cannot express the amount of joy, pleasure and amazement it has been to watch them each grow into the women they are today. They are my BFFs, my angels, my happy thoughts. They are hilariously and most OUTRAGEOUSLY comical. I love them together or apart, they need their own comedy tour with all the characters they have. How they make me laugh. We are the three musketeers!! All for one and one for all! Thank you for choosing me to be your mother and sharing your life with me. You are strong, amazing and phenomenal women.

TJ and Lindsay

Great story of how they met. Our favorite Sunday time was to head to Temple square in the afternoon. So my husband is walking ahead chatting away as usual and he mets two ladies and a boy taking pictures. Well as you do, you offer to take the photo so everyone can be in it. There was comments made of the accents his Irish and the others Scottish ( YEAH!!) he says how his wife loves Scotland etc etc.. so the kids and I come walking up and intros are made all around. The topic comes up about pioneer day and what to do ( since we were new to the Utah tradition). Evelynn says there is a great hot air ballon show in american Fork, I say that is where my son who just returned from his mission lives, she says "How tall is he?" I look oddly at Angela and reply " 6'2", she smiles , says I have a daughter-and like as if it had been rehearsed- we both reach for our cameras- and like clock work bring the pictures of TJ and Lindsay together. Everyone smiles and agrees they MUST meet. So we decide to have a large group meal at a local resturant so as not to make anyone feel odd incase they dont hit it off. After a wonderful meal and getting to know each other- we went to an aunts home and had an enjoyable evening and TJ and Lindsay have been insepertable ever since. Enjoy the photos-Love Bye

Harold's Valentine pancake caper

Our tradition for Valentines Day, I make heart shaped pancakes and lay out some Valentine's treats. So this year Harold wants to make the pancakes. I tell him to read the directions on the back of the box. I come in and there is a HUGE bowl of thick mix in the bowl. Me- "Ah, son did you read the directions? It calls for 2 cups of mix." H- "AHHHH, TWO CUPS?" well to say the least we feasted on pancakes ALL that day!! the pictures tell the story. ( In his defense, he is use to making cake mix and thought ok empty the package! ) But it all turned out wonderfully and made for a GREAT tale to tell!!
